Oh, Lordy. I just wrote a post on my site, satirical, of course, but so true. Winston Churchill gave me the idea with a quote of his I saw on someone’s feed: https://chezgigitees.com/supreme-court-makes-difference-of-opinion-a-hate-crime/

It’s close enough to real life to be true, lately.

It’s such a shame about these things. I get what you got from internet acquaintanceships. I just take it in stride now — I can’t worry over losing someone I’ve never met if they want to be buttheads. I’ve seen thread arguments between family members on FBook. In front of the world they’re nastily debating a family member over stupid politics! And it isn’t just Trump — this was happening over Obama being elected. Trump just made it worse.

I’ve been unfriended over the mere suggestion that my life didn’t end because he’s president, and that I can’t find it in my heart to really care what the rest of the world thinks about us. When did they ever have a good opinion of us? Why do I need to care? It’s exhausting, all of this angst.

One woman has a big house in the middle of nowhere, isolated in the desert where she lives like a queen, but HER LIFE IS HELL because of Trump!

Anyway, makes you wonder if they regret it? I’ve lost good friends to death and there’s no replacing them. Why would anyone deliberately discard a friendship?
