I read a couple of different sources on this. No one seems to take into account (blaming nearly everything else for various statistics on whatever issue they’re discussing), that we have a higher population than any of those other developed countries. Why is that so hard to figure into statistics? (Lies, damned lies, and statistics). Everyone uses them to try to “prove” something about the US, which isn’t completely provable.

Plus, it is somewhat up to people to educate themselves. Doctors and hospitals can’t nag everyone to have babies when they’re younger, to not gain too much weight, to exercise, and keep their hearts healthy, etc.

Much as I distrust much about standard medicine, I have to sympathize with doctors who say, “I give people prescriptions, because I know they won’t change their lifestyle, no matter what I say.”
